Autocross ‘Banger’ Racing on Chouet Beach is always a fun and exciting watch, and well worth a visit. If youre early enough you can even view the action from the warmth of your car, and there are fantastic viewing spots along the top of the beach if the weather is warmer. The Guernsey Autocross Club held its first official race in St Sampsons Harbour in 1969 and cars have been racing on Guernsey beaches ever since. Eleven cars took part in that first race, but numbers grew until there were 120 at one point. In 1970 the club moved to Chouet, although some races also happen at Vazon.
